REVLON LIP BUTTERS!!!! - REVIEW

Hello y'all,

Hope winter is treating you beauties with lots of moisture and comfort. I am back with another exciting yet quite non recent product. As you guessed by the title its the Revlon lip butters. I have them with me and I love them so thought why the hell not do a blog on it. So here I am!!!!

I have five of these babies and I am in a hunt for many more. They retail for Rs.650 ($10) each here in India which is kinda ridiculous of a price but never buy them for that amount. Jabong or Nykaa always have these amazing sales so I got them for 30% off i.e. Rs. 450 so it is way better than paying retail price.

Now about the product, lemme just start by saying that I am completely in love with them. Though I always go for matte finish when it comes to lip colors and never thought I will love this product, but who knew I would go berzerk for them. They are creamiest of product I have ever used.  It beats Revlon just kissable balm stains hands down for me.

They are tinted lip balm but they give a little bit of more color than just a tint and the balm effect, yes, truly they are very moisturizing. They are not long lasting and neither does the company claim that. After hour or two I do have to reply but that’s the fun part that I don’t mind, for the cream feeling I am okay to apply them time and again.

Packaging: 4/5 (The top is clear so it will be easy to pick colors you like while not allowed to test them)
Price: Bit too high
Balm effect: 5/5
Longevity: 2.9/5
Application: Easy (Can be applied without a mirror infront)

Overall rating: 4/5

I am crazy about Revlon lip product range so keep your eyes open for many more reviews on them.

Till then..spread love..

BEST LIP BALM EVER!!!!!!!!!!! - MY TOP 5!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am a lip balm lover/ collector/ hoarder/ appreciator or someone who requires lip balm on an often basis, so it’s natural for me to stumble upon many lip balms while finding the best once out there. Though I am not claiming that the once that I love will work the same way on you nor am I claiming that there is nothing better out there. There might be but I have not crossed path with it as of yet.

My lips often remain chapped and very drying and specifically in winters become overly frosty till the point it starts to bleed, not a pretty image, is it? So often exfoliating it and then moisturizing with a lip balm is crucial. So mentioned below in ascending order are my top 5 lip balms.

Best No. 5 : EOS LIP BALM

EOS lip balm is like a key staple in every girls bag and rightly so because it works great for dry chapped cracked lips. The reason it being on no. 5 has nothing to do with it being not awesome but its just I have few others that either I have used more or is more convenient in terms of application. I have it in 2 flavors: strawberry sorbet and honeysuckle honeydew. If just one flavor that I might recommend it totally will be summer fruit. I don’t have it in my collection as of now but I love that scent. It is creamy but not sticking, thick but not too thick. And the packaging is adorbe!!!

Price: Rs. 550 (in Indian market) and $6-$7 (in international marketing depending on where you buy it from)
Availability: Widely available on Flipkart, snapdeal, ebay and pretty much all online shopping sites. (Internationally: walgreens, walmart, CVS etc)
Qty: 7g
Application: Easy, quick, handy and takes less storage space
Overall rating : 3.7/5

Best No. 4: Nivea milk and honey balm

There are many lip balms under Nivea but none of them worked for me and then I stumbled upon this beauty and oh my am I glad!!!!!
I am in complete love this balm firstly for heavenly honey scent and secondly for its feel on my lips. It feels like brushing silk on top of my lips and this is my HG for winters and acute lip temperament.

Price: $2.25 (US pricing), sadly in India this particular balm is available on ebay.in for Rs.915, I know ridiculous but I actually buy in lots from various international sites so I save up on shipping charges.
Availability: In India, Poor.
Qty: 4.8 g
Application: Easy, quick and super soft. Glides like a gel but doesn’t feel sticky at all.
Overall Rating: 4/5

Best No. 3: Smith’s Minted rose lip balm

This definitely goes on top of the ladder for its texture and feeling. Minted rose as name suggest smells like menthol, plain and simple. Feels tingly and cool on lips like menthol and the tingle obviously dials out like after 15-20 mins and it gives the nicest shine to my lips. I often use on top of any lip color and it works like a clear gloss.
It keeps my lips nice and hydrated and does not feel hovering at all. I wont recommend to those who have issue with mint smell or feel. But they do have many different flavors in their collection so try one of those. I would have if not for the giant jar and never ending balm.
Lovely balm!!!

Price: Rs.731 ($5-$7, depending where you get it from)
Availability: Available on luxola.com
Qty: 22g
Application: Bit messy if you don’t like dipping finger into a jar but honestly I don’t mind.
Overall rating: 4.2/5

Best No. 2 : The Body Shop Cocoa Butter lip care stick

Ahhhhh the smell of chocolate and cocoa powder is the core of this baby. I love the smell. Heavenly!!! This is one of my favorite lip balms of all times. I finished more than 2 sticks of it in quite a short time. Consistency is slippery and not at all heavy. Easily glides and its effects remain long after I have forgotten that I applied something on firsthand. If you have a chapped lip which is way beyond manageable then go for this balm. It worked like a charm for my bleeding lips. It makes your lips like baby soft.

Price: Rs. 350 ($8)
Availability: Any body shop outlet
Qty: 4.2g
Application: Stick application. Easy and convenient
Overall Rating: 4.7/5

Best No. 1: Burt’s Bees replenishing lip balm with Pomegranate oil

Hands down my favorite all time beloved lip balm will be Burt’s Bees with pomegranate oil. It smells like herbal tea to me, very exotic and exuberant. The balm is stick application product with a twist up handle many other lip balms. No matter how bad your lip condition is, I can almost guarantee that it will work out for you.

Tip: don’t judge the balm (any balm) after immediate use or even after a night keep but give it 2 weeks minimum because each balm takes time to get use to lip texture and body function.

Price: Rs. 425 ($3.30)
Availability: Flipkart, ebay, Sephora and I am pretty sure if you look around you can find it almost anywhere.
Qty: 4.25 g
Application: Easy and convenient

Overall rating :5/5

LUXOLA HAUL IS HERE!!!!!!!!!

Hello everybodyyyy!!! Howz it hanging? So I am back with another blog post for you and it is, as promised, Luxola haul. Let me tell you a little about Luxola. Luxola ia an online shopping portal that ships to many Asian countries like Philippines, Singapore, India, Hong Kong, Malaysia and then expanding in other parts of world including Australia and New Zealand.
They have some of the best brands that I personally was unable to find locally here in India. Brands like Rahua, Intelligent nutrients, Beauty blender, Sleek makeup, Wet n wild, Korres, Sigma, Real techniques, Eco tools, NCLA and Deborah lipmann to name a few. I found out about them providing services here in India couple of weeks ago and since then was unable to not order few items for myself.

Now comes the sad part. Up until 3 days back they were providing COD (cash on delivery) option in India but recently they cancelled that mode of payment and when I contacted them about it, all I got was, this is a management issue and we are still sorting through it. I hope they can bring back COD option. When any shopping portal shows COD, I immediately trust it for some reason. Another bad news they don’t even accept debit cards so only option for now is having a credit card at your disposal. That said lets jump into the first impression/haul of all the items I bought. Also I wont be able to discuss any product in particular in depth or else it will be hell of a long post.

If you want a review/swatch on some specific product, leave a comment down below and I will right away jump into that wagon.

Also for price of individual product check the caption out.

First are 2 palettes from sleek makeup. I am so in love with sleek. They have amazing color payoff, great selection range and overall decent price. My favorite will be Vintage romance. If I will recommend one sleek palette to anyone it will be vintage romance. Such a great collection of red, golden and base colors that instantly you will get a seductive look.

Price: Rs. 1005
Price: Rs. 1005
Next I bought an eyeshadow primer and oh, was I surprised with it. I am so in awe with this product. Honestly when I bought it, I considered it to be average and I am sorry to judge it the way I did. My eyelids are oily and no eyeshadow tends to stay on for more than 2 hours but with this Luscious Angel primer it stretched the longevity by 5 hours more. Need to have basis.
Price: Rs.880

Next I bought few wet n wild mega slick balm stain. Guys get your hands on these bad boys. I got 3 shades and now I want all of them. I bought nudist colony (nude beige), Pinky promise (Light pink with golden shimmer) and my fav Lady and the vamp (Brown based red). Each of them cost Rs.361
Next comes wet n wild lipstick in shade sugarplum fairy(dark burgundy color) costing Rs. 315 and the color literally remains on your lips for like 24 hours (no kidding).

I also got one of the wet n wild  color icon eyeshadow palette in shade Petal pusher that contains 8 colors and each color is labelled for the purpose it is included like browbone, eyelid etc. I had high expectation from them but somehow the color payoff on my fingers is much more than on my eyelids so not a fan. Might buy other shades though.

Other than this all I got are few single items: Wet n wild blush in shade pearlescent pink ( Rs. 406), a pressed powder in shade fair/ light ( Rs. 361)and one eyeliner pencil in deep blue( Rs.178).

With my purchase I got a free sample of Sleek eyeshadow in shade Khaki and one rahua voluminous shampoo sample (I gave it to my mother to use so dont have its pic- when asked her opinion in terms of effect she said, 'I have used better' but honestly I did notice bounce and shine in her hair which she is always ignorant too).

Thats all for now. So hope this was helpful/fun. For any queries leave me a comment down below.

REVIEW: BABYLISS PRO NANO TITANIUM 1'' FLAT IRON

Hello my beauties!!!!!!

How is Friday evening treating you? Well I hope this review picks up your lips into a smile for now. I am here with the review on Babyliss pro Nano titanium flat iron. I finally received it today in afternoon and of course I used then and there. So I will tell you all about it. Sorry if my review might seem a tad longer but I want to inform you about it in depth before you decide to invest on this bad boy.

I bought mine from amazon. I would have bought it from flat iron experts but I was getting a better deal on amazon at that time. But guys if you wanna buy this flat iron I will recommend flatironexperts (Ships only in US) , beautydrama.com (ships worldwide) or grabmore.in (legit and my loved website- ships in India). Though available on ebay etc but if you are investing large amount of money it better be for authentic genuine product.

I bought it for $165 but it has a mini flat iron and hair dryer in its scheme and so I bought it. Important:- It only runs on 120V so make sure if you are plugging it in Indian power supply, use a converter that is available at many electronics outlet. Since I use all US based product I have a step down transformer at home that works upto 2000 Watt .

Okay so let us talk about the hair straightener. First and foremost the flat iron is so light in weight, many a times while straightening I almost pulled my hair down in chunks. You have to be light handed with it. The heat setting goes all the way upto 450 F, with 50 settings to choose from. Now in the instruction guide it said for fine hair use 11-20 heat setting but when I tried at such low heat my fine hair were almost full wavy even after multiple passes, so I increased the heat setting to 40 and even then I had to make couple of passes to get my hair pin straight.

In all fairness to Babyliss pro my GHD has ruined me with its single pass pin straight quality. So overall it took me 20 mins or so to do my entire head of hair. Plates are titanium and I thought it will help in slipping down my hair without my hair getting caught in it or it pulling strands of my hair down. But I was wrong, it pulled my hair a little. I prefer ceramic plates in comparison to titanium.

I am feeling like my thoughts are going all over the place. So to simplify lets try good old Pros & Cons.

Pros:
  1. Light weight
  2. Multiple heat setting
  3. Quick heat up time
  4. Swivel cord
  5. Easy handling

Cons:
  1. Titanium plates makes hair difficult to slip through plates (my experience)
  2. The outer body gets hot so if you like holding flat iron from its tip while straightening, I suggest wear a heat protecting glove.
  3. It takes minimum 3 passes to come somewhere near pin straight hair
  4. The plates have wider space between them such while clamping flat iron you need to exert pressure to further reduce space between plates.

Well this is my personal experience with this flat iron. So will I ever repurchase it again? No.

Will I recommend this flat iron? Sure. It is a good enough flat iron. And it might work miraculously on someone else.

Will I trade my GHD for it? Never in a million years.

Even if your hair is thin but super kinky or wavy you will have to turn up the heat dial to 40 or above.

Overall rating: 3/5

Ummm..what else? Ohh yaa, I am always on a look out for some new flat irons. I want to try the KQC one. SO has anyone tried it? Leave your comments down below. Also subscribe if you found this review helpful and if no, tell me what else you would like to know about it.

Love..

REVIEW!!!!!!- TANGLE TEEZER ORIGINAL

Hello to all my beauties out there!!!!

So I am here again with another review for you. Though I said my next review will be on Babyliss Pro Nano Titanium Ultra thin 1`` flat iron but due to delay in shipping it is still going to take a day or 2 so until then I have another product that I recently bought online and it arrived yesterday.

Yes it is the Tangle Teezer original brush line brush. I have heard so much about this brush in past but never got around to buy and try it myself. I always thought I would but ended up buying something else instead. Finally I bought one and let’s check out if it actually is worth the hype and the price or you can slide this one away.

I bought mine at Jabong.com (Indian online shopping website), one website that I absolutely love for Rs. 1099 ($17-$18). It is cheapest on Jabong as I always compare prices on various website before purchasing it. So let us start point wise:

Packaging: The hair brush comes in transparent rectangle shaped box which is convenient to check the color of brush you are buying. Rating: 4/5

Design of Brush: When I received the package and I opened up, honestly, I expected the brush to be a little bigger in size but it is so cute. It is even smaller than my palm so then and there I had doubts that this brush will slip out of my hand anytime it catches a tangle. But it is quite a sturdy little thing and it was able to hold on to my palm for entire hair combing session.
The brush has 2 lengths of bristles, longer once to grab a good amount of hair chunks and smaller once to get even deepest of tangle.
As I start combing I noticed the bristles were able to sort tangles without any tugging or pulling. One complain I have though, for the bristles, they are way too hard which just plunges right into my skull and pokes a little. Maybe that has to do with brush being new and with time maybe the tip of bristle will soften. And while combing bristles of brush makes this horrible screeching sound when in contact to my hair, it feels like a rough cloth washing brush. Rating: 3.5/5

Amount of hair breakage: I slept in a bun for good 6 hours and let me tell you, my hair is thin, kinky with ample amount of frizzes so as soon as I comb my hair new tangles start of form because my hair is very light. So after 24 hours of not combing tangle teezer had some real test infront of it, OMG did it work. My hair breakage reduced by 60% (dry). No kidding you guys. After every pass through my hair I checked the bristle and only 3 times did I notice some hair breakage. Rating: 5/5

WET vs DRY challenge: Okay this is important point for me. I can use a regular comb for my dry hair and somewhat breakage is less comparable to wet hair combing. So I was super curious does it work as well with damp hair as with dry hair. Answer is yes. After I wash my hair, I only use john frieda frizz ease hair serum and a little bit of macadamia no tangle hair spray. I did. First swipe and the brush glided through my hair like my hair have been combed from before (which it wasn’t). Second swipe and yup a little not caught in the way of smooth combing routine. So I continued. Hair breakage reduced by 40% (wet). Overall yes I recommend this brush for damp hair combing. Rating: 4/5

Though don’t use it for blow drying routine. It says right on the box, ‘do not use with heat’.

Final verdict: I approve it for purchase. It works well for thin to medium hair type (don’t know if it will work that well for thick hair texture). All in all a good buy.
With courtesy of my papa:)

Final rating: 4.5/5 (Reducting .5 for hard bristle tip).

I am so waiting for the Babyliss flat iron. Ahhh..this waiting is haunting.

Until we meet again. Muah…See you soon!!!!

Heat Protection Hair Spray!!!!! (Tresemme, GHD & Organix)

Hey Guys,

Welcome to my new blog channel. This channel will include reviews/ first impression for all or any product I feel is worth a post of its own. Of-course if you guys have any suggestions or want me to try a new product do let me know in the comment section and I will be crazy enough to try it out for you.

So today I decided to open up this blog by introducing few of my most favorite heat protection spray which I use anytime I am applying even slightest of heat on my hair. My hair is naturally wavy and frizzy beyond explanation so it goes without saying it requires heat to come even nearly close to look presentable. Hair is something that defines our face, layers up to cheekbones highlights structure of face completion. A good haircut can make our day and a bad one can ruin our days to come especially if we have to make an appearance in front of people. I believe everyone is beautiful in their own ways and getting conscious about our looks though unnecessary is part of human nature (errr..women nature).

So let me get started. I use 3 different heat protectants and I am gonna talk about each one of them in no particular order.

1) Tresemme Heat tamer spray:  My love for tresemme is like a long beautiful happy story with no ending in sight. I bought it on ebay for $20 (sucks coz actual cost of this product in State is $5-$6 but including shipping and taxes here in India, it cost almost about any high end brand hair spray )and it lasted me a good amount of months. I don't usually flat iron my hair unless I have to go to a party or attend a presentation. My hair is fine and if I use more of any hair product it can easily weigh down my hair but this baby makes my hair soft and beyond weighing down.

Once my hair is air dried I spray this on my ends and ohhh the smell. It smells like fruits and berries and just bubbly. One of the best smelling hair spray out there. It smells even more awesome when I use my GHD to straighten my hair. I have been using this spray for over 4 years now and my hair has no damaging ends ofcourse I have ample split ends but they were there from always. This spray gives my hair shine and that flexibility which makes my stick straight hair look more natural. One time a girl in my graduation college told me, "you have naturally straight hair right?"
If you straighten your hair or curl your hair I will recommend this to any hair type.

2) GHD thermal protector: I bought GHD hair straightener from ebay and that time there was deal going on so I got 2 for $25 so it was pretty good deal and I am glad I bought it.

Though in comparison to Tresemme I will definitely say tresemme makes my hair more soft and shiny. GHD spray does a decent job to protect heat damage to my hair but what I find about this hair spray is it weighs down my hair a little such that my hair falls flat on my cheeks with no bounce or flexibility. And when I straighten my hair with tresemme my hair remains stick straight for like 5 days (no hair wash included) but with ghd after 2 days I feel like I will need touch up to certain strand of hair.
I loveeee the smell though. It smells like flowers. Some sweet and beautifull flowers thrown together. I found when I use this spray with blow dryer. It  helps reduce blow drying time and gives me a sheen which makes my hair look healthy.

So I recommend this product for those girls who have medium to thick hair for curlers or straighteners. But for everyone in general I will recommend this as best spray for blow drying routine.

3) Organix ever straight brazilian keratin therapy flat iron spray: This hair spray smells like coconut. Straight up coconut. I love this spray for blow drying routine. I never tried it with flat iron for no particular reason but I like the feel of this spray.

It is light and doesnt weigh down my hair and it makes my hair look healthier for some reason. It contains coconut oil, avocado oil, cocoa butter. For those of you who like something bit more natural and little less chemically, I will recommend this hair spray as it does perfectly fine job of protection and giving shine to those beautiful lock of yours.

I do want to try redken smooth heat lock glide next. Has anyone tried it? If you can recommend any good heat protectant let me know. I sure will be willing to give that a try to.

Next review on: Babyliss Pro nano titanium ultra thin 1" flat iron. (Excited!!!!!!!!!!!!!)

In case I dont see you, goodmorning , goodafternoon, goodevening and goodnight( The trueman show..haha)
